Using Google to find images might give you a legal headache

Guide

If you search for images you will see the sentence "Images may be subject to copyright"

As the saying goes "a picture paints a thousand words" and can greatly enhace the user experience for your website.

Using images without the appropriate permissions may result in legal proceedings being sent to you via a posted letter.  Some of the correspondence can be quite agressive demanding a hefty fine even if you immediately remove the image.

It is much safer to use images that you know you have permission to use.

Even with pictures you have been given permission to use where possible it is good ettiquette to credit the photographer.

If you have paid for the rights to use a stock media file, read the license restrictions carefully and keep a record of licence number you have paid for so you can quote this should you receive a copyright infringement notice.
