The Challenge
The Poor Clares are an enclosed order of Sisters that take vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. The Colletine Monastery in Cork had a very basic 'home grown' website and Faithful.ie was approached by the Diocese of Cork + Ross to explore the creation of a new website.
The Solution
Poor Clare Monastery - Cork
After establishing the structure and content of the website, training via remote access was provided in order to empower the Sisters with the skill to publish their own news.
The website has been through several stages of development exploring different ideas to inform visitors about the Poor Clares. The logo is based on a drawing provided by one of the Sisters.
Currently the site includes the following features:
- Videos of sisters sharing their vocation story
- Recordings of a three-part radio program 'In Our Own Words'
- Various prayers and videos for contemplation
- Publication of News
- Invitations to events for women considering a vocation to join the Poor Clares
- A gallery slideshow showing the life of the Poor Clares
