The Challenge
In the summer of 2021 Bishop Fintan Gavin introduced and implemented the reorganisation of parishes into 'Families of Parishes'. One of the purposes was for groups of parishes to work together as team sharing resources. Fr Dave O'Connell (Barryroe Parish) approached Faithful.ie to consider how a website might be of service to the newly formed Family of Parishes. This included the six parishes of Ardfield & Rathbarry, Barryroe, Clonakilty, Kilmeen & Castleventry, Rosscarbery and Timoleague.
The Solution

The initial advice was to choose a domain that was diplomatically neutral and didn't particularly favour any of the six parishes. It needed to be short, easy to spell, catchy and descriptive. After listing which domains were available the memorable domain name OneFaith.ie was chosen.
And so the website journey began on journey of constant development.
Currently it includes the following features to serve the six parishes of Ardfield & Rathbarry, Barryroe, Clonakilty, Kilmeen & Castleventry, Rosscarbery and Timoleague.

- Publication of notices for the six parishes
- A feed of the latest five featured articles from the Diocese of Cork + Ross
- The facility to send any notices with upload or images or pdfs
- A feature for visitors to subscribe to receiving notices directly to their email
- A place to Reflect, Meditate, and Contemplate
- The bidding prayers for Sunday Mass from the diocese
- Bible readings for today and next Sunday
- A weekly reflection on Sunday's Gospel
- A page that offers a live stream of Sunday Mass (rotated around the three parishes that offer this)
- A section introducing the six parishes with Mass times and options to give donations safely online
- An introduction to the priests ministering to this Family of Parishes
- A place for stories and interesting historical articles
- The facility to request a baptism or sacrament of marriage online
- A colour-coded calendar showing Sunday, Saturday (Vigil) and Holyday Masses - with the ability to filter by Parish
- A hidden calendar as a resource for the priests to display the agreed rota of where and who is celebrating weekend Masses - with the ability to filter by Priest
